Global Sources Direct will cease operating by the end of this year 2008

GlobalSourcesDirect announed to their China suppliers on Nov 10 that they will cease operating by end of this year. The last order accepting date is December 1, 2008. All the goods needs to be arrived in their Cosco warehouse by December 8.

Here is the original email from GlobalSourcesDirect General Manager:

"Dear Supplier,

I regret to announce that Global Sources Direct will cease operating by the end of this year. Our parent company, Global Sources, has decided to focus management attention and resources to our core businesses of Global Sources Online and China Sourcing Fair.

We understand that this decision may affect many of you who have retained stock for sale on GSD. During this wrap-up period, GSD will do all we can to promote and sell off your stock. Please contact our Supplier Customer Service team accordingly with the items that you urgently need to sell.

For your information, our last day for accepting orders online will be December 1 for shipment by December 8. Should there be any unsold stock in our possession after the last day of sales, we will contact you accordingly to arrange for the return of the goods. Our team will also contact you in the coming weeks to return all samples that are on loan to us. We will continue to run statements every 10 days as before. We expect that the last statement will be run on December 12.

After our closure, GSD will continue to operate a helpdesk to handle customer claims and returns for up to 6 months as indicated in our terms and conditions. Hence, during this period, we may still contact you to resolve claims issues. Of course we hope that this would be minimal. "
